CAPTURING THAT SPECIAL MOMENT BY THE CHRISTMAS TREE

christ-tripp3-s

My mother plugged in the lights on her Christmas tree so my grandson could see it. He walked over to it and reached up to grab a light and I managed to get this one shot before everyone yelled at him not to touch the tree.

FALL MOUNTAIN WEDDING

I rarely agree to do wedding photos but I couldn't turn this one down.

This couple decided to get married on a mountain overlook at Petit Jean Mountain State Park in Morrilton, Arkansas at sunset.  If you looking for a wedding venue, consider one of your local state parks.

Below are a few of the photos from the wedding.

Europe Photo Book Completed !

My photo/ scrapbook from our European vacation.:

It took me over a year to complete this photo book.  I used to purchase albums, paper, stickers, and all of the other paraphernalia that goes along with scrapbooking but the cost had become overwhelming.  I decided to do digital scrapbooking and started researching publishing companies. Mixbook had the best reviews and what I thought was the most professional looking finished product.

That was several books ago and I just got in my newest book in the mail yesterday.  I am beyond thrilled.

I have one wedding book and the others are travel books.  These books make the perfect gift and I'm currently working on a wedding album for my nephew and niece.

The books will hold up to  300 pages.  My Europe book has 261 pages so that gives you an idea of how thick a book they can create.  Most of my books are only be around 50 pages.

If  you print your photos for scrapbooking, you know how expensive it can be. My local Walmart charges $2.84 for an 8x10 so multiply that by 261.  With sales tax, the cost would be $811.66.  I can have a professional looking, hardback, bound book for a fraction of that so it is such a cost effective way to go.

Mixbook - My favorite way to scrapbook

I used to scrapbook in what I refer to as "the hard way" many years ago.  I spent hours in scrapbook stores pouring over all of the beautiful papers and purchasing beautiful stickers.  I then spent hours cutting, gluing, punching, and arranging photos in my albums.  This was so time consuming and I got tired of having bits of paper scattered everywhere along with the dining room table full of papers and photos I was working on.

I was so excited when I discovered digital scrapbooking.  I could crop, edit, and place the photos any way I wanted with the click of a mouse.  I was in heaven.

When I started researching places that sold photo books, I spent days searching websites, checking prices, and reading reviews.  All of this lead me to Mixbooks.

You have the option of uploading your photos and have them create the book for you or you can start with a blank page and create everything yourself.  I tend to go somewhere in between.

I'm currently working on my trip to Europe that my daughter and I took last year and am doing it a little differently than I would a photo album.  It will contain content from my blog posts about the trip making it more personal and I hope to someday pass it on to my grandchildren so they share in the memories of their mother and grandmother.
